Anybody else notice that half the crap out there that is quality beauty product costs about as much as something with gold flakes in it? I don’t know about you but I need some affordable beauty products. Am I right? What gives?
Here’s a newsflash:
There are good beauty products that don’t cost your first born child.
I am all about quality and good ingredients, but you do not have to make big sacrifices to have great products.
As I’m sure you can probably guess by the name of this site, or if you’ve been following me for awhile, you’ll have guessed that I am a trainer and coach, plus a mom of one and I spend a lot of time in gym attire.
A LOT of time in gym clothes.
Because of this, I really place an emphasis on at least feeling semi cute when I’m at the gym because I really don’t want to look like a schlub while working with my clients!
Without further ado, here are my top ten affordable beauty products.
Affordable Beauty Products – CoverGirl Lip Stain
First thing on the list is a lip stick that doesn’t smudge everywhere. I hate lipstick that will smudge around my mouth and look like I’m just learning to put on lipstick.
Enter CoverGirl Lip stain. This stuff is AWESOME and it costs around $8. It comes with the stain and the lip conditioner that goes on top.
I have found it works best when I put the stain on and let it dry to the point of feeling a bit sticky and then put the lip conditioner on top of it and voila. Moist lips with no sticky.
This lip stain is by far better than the department store brands I have tried that cost about 3 times as much.
A lip stain that lasts all day and only $8? I’d say that’s a win.
Affordable Beauty Products – L’Oreal Paris Makeup Voluminous Mascara
If you want my full review on this mascara, you can click here to check it out. But, for you reference, here is my supremely awkward picture of this mascara in action.
I look like I’m wearing some falsies and it’s pretty legit.
Affordable Beauty Products – Creative Lab Moist Hemp
This body lotion is probably the best lotion I’ve ever used and the price is amazing. Not only does it moisturize your skin and not leave you feeling greasy, it has a hint of tan in it.
Now, I do spray tans/self tanning, but on the other days I still need a lotion to moisturize my skin after my showers.
This moisturizer does it plus with that hint of tan it makes my self tanner wear off more evenly.
It’s a win win, kay?
Affordable Beauty Products – L’Oreal Paris Pencil Eyeliner
I love me some black eyeliner. I’m talking blacker than the midnight sky with no moon or stars in the middle of nowhere. Know what I mean?
The Loreal Paris waterproof eyeliner is perfect for us girls that sweat a lot and that also like water sports.
It’s an eyeliner.. I’m pretty sure I don’t need to gush anymore about it.
Affordable Beauty Products – Mountain Falls Baby Oil Gel
This one seems a bit weird, right? Well, go with me here. My skin tends to be super dry, especially in the winter and even more so right after I have shaved my legs.
This is what I use on my legs right after I have shaved instead of my moisturizer I mentioned above. The reason for that is that right after you shave, your pours open up and just soak up any color of a tanner. (hint- if you self tan, exfoliate and shave the evening before and then put on your tanner the next morning. This allows your pours to close)
I use this baby oil gel on my legs right after I shower while I’m still in the shower. If you want more tips on smooth legs… I gotcha covered over here.
Affordable Beauty Products – Gillette Venus Women’s Comfort Glide
Best. Razor. Ever. I love the multiple blades and as stupid as it sounds, I love the handle.
I’ve been through many razors in my time and this one out does itself. When we’re shaving, we want a shave so close that it’s almost awkward.
One thing to be aware of, which, I mean, I’m stating the obvious here. But, one thing to be aware of but that I really like about these razors is that they are super sharp right out of the package and stay sharp for quite awhile.
Not all razors are created equally. Trust me.
Affordable Beauty Products – OGX Argan Oil of Morocco
This little beauty is for your hair. Color treating our hair can do a real number on it, especially if the hairstylist isn’t a master colorist (yep, that’s a thing). Argan oil saved my hair when I went to someone that almost ruined my hair before I found my girl Shannon who is a master colorist.
I would actually do oil treatments on my hair. Where in the shower I would massage the oil into my hair and leave it in for about 15 minutes and then I’d rinse it out, use conditioner and get out.
When I’d do this treatment, I would not dry my hair and allow it to naturally dry and then the following morning I would actually wash my hair and fix it normally.
To be honest, I was truly amazed at how well it worked to get my hair healed up.
Affordable Beauty Products – Not your Mother’s Dry Shampoo
You knew I was going to have to bring up dry shampoo, right? I mean, it’s a staple in the lives of women everywhere.
While I do think that some girls take their dry shampoo escapades to an entirely unhealthy level… Dry shampoo certainly has its place and it’s a fantastic invention.
Not Your Mother’s Shampoo is a great brand and it’s uber cheap. Sooooo, I’m pretty sure I don’t need to say more.
Affordable Beauty Products – Jade Roller for Face
I know I know. This thing looks goofy as heck. But it’s actually pretty cool, so work with me here.
Have you ever noticed that your face gets kinda puffy while you’re sleeping? That’s where this little dooly whopper comes in.
This Jade roller is something that you put in the freezer or the refrigerator and when you wake up in the morning, you roll it across your face, and it helps the puffiness go down.
If I’m lying, I’m dying, because it actually feels really good and does help with the puffiness.
I know. It looks and sounds absolutely ridiculous, but it works!
Affordable Beauty Products – Tree Hut Sugar Scrub
I do love me some good sugar scrub. Tree Hut is a fantastic brand and very inexpensive in price but not quality.
They smell amazing and they come at a super great price.
If you are in the mood for a DIY, I have a sugar scrub recipe that super easy to make. Just throw in your e-mail below and I’ll send it to you.
Don’t worry, I only send good stuff and you’ll not only get the free sugar scrub recipe, you’ll get 4 more free gifts over the next 2 days.
Welp, there ya have it, sister. My top 10 picks for beauty products that are under $10.
When it comes to facial skincare, I do spend some money on the extra good stuff. Because, well, this is my only face and I want to take care of it.
My favorite skincare is called Aloette and it’s phenomenal. They have an acne skincare line that cleared up my skin and it doesn’t have benzol peroxide in it. It’s much less harsh on the skin while clearing up the obnoxious acne that comes with hormones and, well, being a human being.
