All houses have a smell, every last one of them and they all seem to be different. If you don’t think your house does, trust me it does 🙂 Have you also ever noticed that some smells trigger you to think of certain things? Christmas potpourri for example with the cinnamon and spicy flavors makes me remember cutting down our Christmas tree as a child. Those cinnamon and spicy smells bring back those fond memories.
Cinnamon and Christmasy flavors are my favorite types of smells and I like having a way to make my house smell like Christmas that does not include open flame and hot wax. The mixture of these flavors in the pot on the stove will get the smell in your house to a very pleasant holiday smell and hopefully bring back wonderful memories from Christmas of old.
I like my potpourri strong so if this recipe is too much, you can always back off a bit on the ingredients.
The pot you’re going to use will depend on what size you have. A large sauce pan will allow your water to boil more quickly, so just make your decision based on your needs. The below pot works great! So, if you need a pan, click the link below to head over to Amazon to grab one!
Once you have your house smelling awesome you’ll need some activities, right? I’ve got you covered, sis. It’s time to go on a date with the hubs- head over to my 25 of the Best Date Activities for Christmas Time.
Merry Christmas and Enjoy!
